About Me

Gabe Guth, LMHCA

20220222_142226.jpg

I am a graduate of the Master’s in Counseling program at Northwestern University. Additionally, I received my undergraduate degree at Evergreen State College.

My passion for helping others was put into motion early in my life observing my parents manage a therapeutic foster home. This helped developed my strong sense of empathy for others and I would go on to volunteer and mentor many hundreds of hours for a variety of agencies, including internationally while serving overseas in the U.S. Navy.

My training is in a broad range of areas, but I am passionate about working with individuals on issues including, but not limited to, depression, anxiety, self-esteem, and relationship struggles. As a veteran, I also understand many of the challenges other veterans face and have worked extensively with individuals from this population. While my technique is rooted in psychodynamic theory, I also incorporate feminist theory, client-centered approaches, and multicultural theories.

Most importantly, I am certain that healing can come from establishing a genuine relationship based on trust and unconditional positive regard. From this, we will explore your past relationships and experiences, as I believe they will give us insight into your current areas of concern. Then, we will discover solutions for you to live a life more aligned with your authentic self, desires, and goals. Your overall health and happiness are important to me, and I am privileged to help guide you in your journey to heal.

Let's connect

I offer a free 20 minute consultation over the phone.  The consult gives me a chance to learn a little more about you and the concerns that are bringing you to therapy while allowing you a chance to learn a little bit about me and the way I work.  It also allows us to hit the ground running in our first video session.

I offer a sliding scale and a good faith estimate of expected charges is available upon scheduling or upon your request. At this time I do not accept insurance. However, if you require documents for reimbursement purposes, I am happy to provide them.
